Iolo is a psychologist with a passion for helping others.
He is committed to assisting individuals improve their psychological well-being using a strengths-based, and client-focused approach, to create long-lasting psychological change.
Iolo works with a wide cross-section of clients of all ages including adults, and children from the age of 6 and above. He values collaboration, creativity, and continuous growth, and strives to create a safe, nonjudgmental space for all clients, so that they feel comfortable and supported.
Iolo is trained in both Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). In addition to practicing psychology, Iolo has experience as a visual artist, and martial arts instructor. As a result, Iolo has developed a unique skillset that allows him to communicate and help others effectively using creative and innovative approaches, grounded in behavioural science.
Iolo works with a wide variety of presenting difficulties, from depression and anxiety, to emotion regulation, stress, relationship/attachment difficulties, and trauma-related issues. He has a particular interest in supporting clients experiencing phobias, as well as clients with Autism, and he is trained in utilising a neurodiversity-affirming approach when working with his clients.
Iolo is also passionate about the relationship between mental and physical health, and the role of physical activity and movement in promoting overall well-being. As such, Iolo also offers walk-and-talk sessions where appropriate, so that clients can experience the combined benefits of physical activity and talking with a trained psychologist.
Iolo supports clients from our Sutherland Shire practice.
