Provisional Psychologist at Blacktown
Ashwin Vignaraja
Ashwin is a Provisional Psychologist who enjoys supporting adolescents and adults to better understand themselves, navigate life’s challenges, and create meaningful change. He values building a warm, collaborative, and non-judgemental therapeutic relationship where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to work towards their goals.
Ashwin works with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, emotional regulation difficulties, relationship concerns, stress, and adjustment challenges. He has experience working with clients across the lifespan and is committed to tailoring therapy to people’s unique needs and circumstances.
Ashwin takes a client-centred approach and works primarily within a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) framework, integrating mindfulness-based strategies where appropriate. He believes effective therapy balances compassion with gentle challenge, helping clients develop insight, build practical coping skills, and achieve lasting change.
Alongside his clinical placement experience, Ashwin has volunteered with Lifeline, supporting people experiencing emotional distress and crisis. These experiences have strengthened his ability to provide a calm, empathic, and supportive space for clients.
Ashwin holds a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) from the University of New South Wales and is currently completing a Master of Clinical Psychology. He is registered as a Provisional Psychologist with AHPRA.
